Cacti and succulents symbolize endurance, determination, survival, timeless love, and tranquility. They’re capable of thriving in even the harshest conditions. They remind us that even with unavoidable suffering life is beautiful and we are capable of growth and resiliency.

About Me

I’d love for you to know a little about me as a human being. I’m proud of my Mexican heritage. I love our food, music, dancing, and loud celebrations. I grew up in northern California surrounded by agriculture and gangs. Growing up I’d get into trouble for talking too much and distracting others. I lived in San Francisco for six years and have lived in Los Angeles for ten years. I’ve ran three half marathons, one full marathon, love to hike and be outdoors, and need to learn how to swim one day. I love to travel to other countries and plan on traveling for the rest of my life. I’m still processing lived experiences and learning from my mistakes. Thank goodness for my supportive family, friends, colleagues and my incredible therapist.

Again, I praise you for considering mental health services. Continue showing up for yourself and embracing your beautiful, messy journey. - Janet

P.S. Why the name Medrano Therapy? My practice honors my family, our lessons learned, and our attempts to break cycles and barriers. Specifically, my dad’s journey drives me and reminds me of the tenacity within all of us. Dad and Mom, gracias por su esfuerzo y valentia. Los amo y los aprecio.
